Im currently trieing to make the official TDP website. Somthing I realy don't know how to do so don't get your hopes up for anything too great, I'm learning from scraps of information I pick up from people, from google, and from a couple other sites.
Right now, I just need the think tank that is TDP. I need things like; - what information should we have on the TDP site? - What type of pages would you like to see? - Any interesting art you'd like to see incorporated into the TDP layout?
Or anything else you think would help. I can use all the help I can get so theres no such thing as a stupid question, or idea (unless your end). As for the colours, I'm planning on sticking with Red and black, but if you have another suggestion, feel free to suggest it.
I think this is a good Idea, and if you make it you should have a link to the forums on it, and maybey the front page should be about how TDP was founded, and/or what TDP is doing now and days.
Hmm, I don't think it should be too busy. Maybe mix of tech and simplism. (Yes, I made that word up) I think the whole site should be pink. No, red and black sounds good. I think there should be a bios page of all the leaders and voters. The TDP top ranked players is good. That's all for now. I'll have more.
If this happens, then one thing we need to decide about this new website is how big a part will the forums play? If it is just a website with a link to the forums then we run the risk of 1 of 3 things:
1. The forums will be over-looked. People will visit the site but will not go as far to actually glance at the forums which have been around for long time and it will be sad to see. Basically, this could lead to the forums becoming inactive.
2. The new web page could be invaluable. It may turn onto just another link to our forums were we do most of the work. Unless the website pages are updated and have something to offer then it will just be the same old forums but with a few more pages accompanying it.
3. Both new web page and forums will work in unison with each other and the forums will not be effected. This may take a lot of work to achieve though.
Also, many of the things which are done on this forum may be able to be done on the new website: There can be an apps page where the people wanting to join simply fill out a form type thing with their details and so on.
I do have a few ideas but I first want to see where people stand on the forums thing first because I think thats the main thing.
...New recruits need to come to the forums to join, the rest of us need to come here to vote, among other things. The forums aren't just an accessory, they're a neccessity and won't be going anywhere.
The website on the other hand will contain information about TDP, TDPers, and how to join (via-forums), and more. Assuming it can be done, it will also contain sorts of entertainment, and be constantly updated to keep people around. It will have records of TDPers achievments, such as Dawg of the month, and art work -- possibly throw stuff in there like the song thread you made . Some people will use the website, some will ignore it and head straight for the forums, its realy no big deal, and we won't realy know until we try.
Matt, I think I have an idea for a more efficient way of applying. I think there is as way where you can actually create a app. that can be filled out on the website. A person fills out the app. and the app. is made into a thread in the voters board. From there we decline, accept, whatever. I can go into mroe detail, but you get my point. If you don't I'll explain.
I think pinkie already had the idea of having them fill out the app on the site or somthing similar, and if she wants to do that it'll be mostly up to her, because I don't know that coding crap... But we can't have it automaticaly make a thread in the forums, because the site and the forums will not be connected.

Okay. I'm interested in hearing what will happen with that. I hope it doesn't go to e-mail because I like reading the apps. -.-
