Well, this comes from the Strategy section of our boards, however I realized that is a very infrequently visited boards, and people who are not ACTIVELY seeking a set may not be able to reap the benefits of my knowledge! Therefore, I'm copying the thread and pasting it here. ENJOY!!! I'll try to update this thread if I scrounge up any new strategies.
These were so great I had to share them. Some people have been wanting new sets and I thought this would be a great gallery of outstanding sets people could use!
CROSS OF DEATH:
As long as they don't have a poison wisp, you'll HAMMER them!!! These 3 clerics will make anyone get awfully nervous! If anyone even THINKS of killing a cleric, BAM! Freeze 'em! Put 'em on ice!!
STONEWALL JACKSON:
If anyone even THINKS of killing your clerics, laugh at them right now! And for a long period of time. All you gotta do is stone it, then barrier and heal to your heart's content. Considering you can technically never win unless you freeze all of their opponents, the main tactic to succeed in this type of game is to frusterate them into submission! And if that fails, cyber. You may lose but at least you'll have a good time (RAWR!).
DIVIDE AND CONQUER:
The two sides of this design will slip into the sides and flank the forces! The three clerics in the rear will help to support this flanking rush! I think this explains itself. Pretty easy win. It's in the bag.
DRAGON BAIT:
When a person with a dragon gets into this game with you, they'll be so over-confident that they'll end up playing crappy! As soon as he brings his dragon in range, burn and heal him to death! No one can stand up to this slaughter! Just a side note, cleric rushes are underestimated and 70% of the time they never lose!
CAT AND MOUSE (also nicknamed "The Stat Stealer"):
This one is truly one of my favorites because it's not everyday you can effectively use a stoney in a rush. Now, the motive behind this one is to have the opponent focus on the lone clerics as the bait. Then, you drop your brick of stoney'd mafia members on them like a ten ton anvil! If anyone wants to mess with that, sic the furgy on them and they'll be out by their 3rd turn. PANSIES.
PEEKABOO:
Now this is a new form of trickery. When your opponent is looking at your field, all they can see is your two clerics. They think you're only playing with two pieces! When they go up to kill your cleric, your other pieces JUMP OUT FROM BEHIND THE CLERICS AND AMBUSH THEM!!! They'll never see it coming!
Well, I hope everyone found these helpful. I was going to keep them to myself, but I felt it wouldn't be fair to my clan mates. One thing I hope doesn't happen through this, is that you guys don't feel ashamed by not being able to come up with sets like these on your own up until now. If you guys need help with sets, just let me know. I got a couple other ideas bouncing around in my brain.
