O lol, then i cant even begin to imagine to understand how much you hate school. I hate school, but I hate art really really bad. If I went to an art school I would've of dropped out my freshman year.

Its pretty much all I do, I think I spend more time doing art then sleeping... realy I wake up, go to school, draw, paint, lunch, paint, come home, Make signatures, and/or custom icons for forums. Die.

1/4 of the year actualy isn't even over yet. And that sun glazing comparison hurts (No offence Stones =P) The was I see it, be takeing a year off I... Pros. - Gain work experiance - get real life experiance - gain a drive to get a better job which means going to school - get time off from the only life ive known for as long as I can remember (school) - make money - save money - start paying my own way, partialy. (I intend to start paying for part of the rent, by choice, not by demand) - I take a little control of my life. - I increase the odds that I'll do well in school. Cons. - I finish school a year later than the people I know. I in all honesty haven't heard an argument that would make me not want to? And don't think that means I dont want to hear one, 'cuz I do, I want an informed decision on wether or not I do this. The reason I don't smoke, is because my mom, sister, and brother do. The reason I dont smoke weed, is because my brother and sister do. The reason I wouldn't drop out of school permanently, My brother and sister did, and my mom would kill me I dont think I've mentioned it, but I am pretty close to getting kicked out according to the VP. once that happens I can't get back in. I think stepping back and takeing a look at my life would be good for me, I realise how important school is, I'm not concidering not finishing highschool, that is a for sure thing. like I said before, I would like to hear reasons not to. Okay for the sungazing thing, I didn't mean I couldn't believe that someone would even consider doing what you are doing, all I mean is you know what you want to do so you're only listening to things that support your idea.
Are you planning on getting a job and living on your own? Is that what you mean by paying rent?

No, I was concidering finding a job, going to my guidence, asking them to arrange for my return next year while I take a year off. Then I'd start working, try to pull my shit together, and with my money, put half in the bank, and spend the rest on clothes etc.. and give some to my mom for rent, just so I'm getting some taste of life after school, in having to pay bills. Though I wouldn't be paying much ^_^" maybe half of what I dont put into the bank, or a lil less.
EDIT: before you say it, yes I realise I would be paying much mroe if I were living on my own, but like I said, just a sample of after school shit.

And don't have sex before marriage plzkthx.
if u are able to become a manager just for a mcdonalds you will make over $100000 a year BTW, I can guarantee you with absolute certainty that that's not true. My neighbor is the VP of McDonalds Corporation and I asked her and she said the highest paid manager in all of Illinois makes $65,000 a year and he's been working 40 years as manager with record sales.
Secondly, McDonalds will not accept managers without a high school diploma. Your friend is lying.

>.< I think you missed everything about my posts. And you've missed everything in Lady's post & my posts. No he came to me bragging showing me his paycheck, but he wasent manager or one Mcdonalds, he was manager of 3 mcdonalds but started out as one and moved up Either he's a regional manager (but I can tell you without a high school diploma there's no way in hell) or he's the manager of 1 McDonalds. They don't assign 1 person to manage multiple stores. It's impossible for 1 person to be the full-time manager of even 2 stores effectively.
Secondly, in your original post you said being the manager of McDonalds you will make $100,000 a year. You didn't say the manager of 3 McDonalds. Kinda a big difference even though it's not possible.

Your only argument against me takeing a break is that a) You think I won't go back to school, which is somthing I wil have pre-arranged. b) why finish school a year or 2 later.
and
what I ment was, you missed the fact that all I wanted to do was hear an argument so I could make an informed decision. but instead:
and the fact that you ignored my arguments, makes it difficult for me to make an informed/well thought through decision.
My arguments aren't me trying to 'not be helped' their so I'm getting my facts straight.

Okay, no problem. I’ll help you get your facts straight. I only wasn’t so honest earlier because I didn’t want to hurt your feelings, but if you want me to be brutally honest and address all your points, here I go…
Pros. - Gain work experience With a part-time job? Helping pay maybe a couple hundred bucks a month for rent and buying a couple T-shirts? I have a better idea for work experience. Why don’t you do what I’m sure Lady and *G* had to do out of high school and work 60 hours a week just to barely make ends meet for a little apartment and eat nothing but Ramen noodles for a year because that’s all you can afford. Having a 20 hour a week job IS NOT experience. That’s what I would call freeloading off your mom while you continue to float through life. If I had even suggested dropping out of high school and getting a job, I would have been kicked out of my house. Maybe that’s what you need. - get real life experience Again, you won’t be getting any real life experience. Maybe you don’t realize what life is because I know I didn’t realize it until I left home. I was one of those kids who thought “hmm, $1,000 a month for an apartment. Not bad at all”… but try tripling that if you want to have insurance, power, gas, cable, internet, phone, cell phone, cars, or anything else that is considered a necessity in life. If you don’t graduate, you really won’t have to worry about any of that because you’ll either be living with your mom your whole life (who is nice enough to put up with the laziness) or you’ll be living in a nice roomy double-wide where your number of kids outnumbers the number of teeth you have left. - gain a drive to get a better job which means going to school I’m thinking that by this you mean getting a crappy job which will make you want to go back to high school. I’ll address this at the end. - get time off from the only life ive known for as long as I can remember (school) Cry me a river. You’ve experienced less school than about half the people in this clan. I’m going for my PhD which means I have 6 years ahead of me and I’m 20. Looking back, high school was an ABSOLUTE JOKE how easy it was. So excuse me if I don’t have much pity for you considering dropping out at 17 because you can’t hack it. - make money At minimum wage moving heavy things (ie, a job a monkey could do)… I’m sure it’s lucrative pay. I guarantee you won’t have any extra money. My fiancé works 40+ hours a week for $30 an hour and we don’t even have enough money to put in the bank to save. When you’re working half as much as he does for a fifth of the pay… somehow I don’t think you’re going to have any money to save. - save money Read above. - start paying my own way, partialy. (I intend to start paying for part of the rent, by choice, not by demand) You’re not paying your own way, you’re mooching off your mom and giving her enough money to maybe pay for the food you eat in a week because groceries aren’t cheap either. If you really want to pay your own way, do it. Go get an apartment and work your ass off to pay the bills. - I take a little control of my life. The only thing you’ll be controlling is the start of a downward spiral. - I increase the odds that I'll do well in school. This I will also address at the end in the life summary I have for you.
I don’t expect you to believe me but I’ll tell you exactly what will happen. Print this out and look at it in 20 years. Regardless of what any of us say here, you’ll drop out. You’ll get a really crappy part-time job (you'll end up applying your amazing problem solving skills and quit that too though). After a year (when you’re thinking of going back to school) you’ll realize you’re not ready yet and continue working various part-time jobs for $0.20 cent per hour raises every few years and continue working until you’re about… 22-23. Your employers know they don't need to pay you more than dirt since you don't have any other options and then you'll realize “hmm. Maybe I would like to have a high school diploma” but you’ll be thinking that there’s no way in hell you want to go back to high school at 22. So really your only option would be to look into a G.E.D but you won’t have the time, money, or determination to do it. When you’re 65 living in some rathole apartment eating catfood because that’s all you can afford, think about how much easier it would have been if you would have stopped being so immature and lazy and listened to the people telling you to finish high school. If I sound pissed, I’m not. Irritated, you bet. I’m not trying to be a bitch but I am trying to be honest because you sound like a 5 year old bitching because they don’t let you use coloring books and suck on lollypops all day in high school but they actually make you write a 4 page paper once a month… oh boo hoo.
In summary, I hope you grow up past the maturity and work ethic of a 10 year old and finish high school so I don't have to wave to you from my Mercedes as I drive by your trailer park. I hope the sungazing comparison did hurt though because honestly staring at the sun for a few hours wouldn't be as detrimental to your future as dropping out of high school would.
EDIT: Before you start taking your high school counselor's word for gospel, think of who these people are. They're the psychology majors who either couldn't handle grad school and didn't get their degree or the one's that sucked so bad they weren't even admitted to grad school.
Consider this Pinkie's extra tough love. If it hurts your feelings, maybe that's a good thing since avoiding hurting them didn't work.
